The goal

Even though diversity efforts and measures have increased over the last decades, women in academia remain underrepresented in leading positions. This seminar offers a space for women to critically reflect on their position within academic structures, explore leadership on their own terms, and build supportive connections. Based on current research, the workshop acknowledges systemic barriers while focusing on practical strategies for visibility and allyship.

The guiding questions

What are the structural and cultural reasons behind the underrepresentation of women in academic leadership?
How can I craft my identity as a leader while encountering biases and competing demands?
How can we support one another and create cultures of solidarity and allyship across roles and identities?

The implementation

This seminar is designed as a safe, interactive, and dialogue-based space. It combines evidence-based input with personal reflection and peer exchange.

Instructors

Dr. Saskia Glaas is a research associate and trainer at the Center for Leadership and People Management. She studied psychology at the University of Regensburg and business, organizational and social psychology at the LMU Munich with a focus on leadership, training and consulting. Her doctorate, completed in 2024, focused on job crafting, leadership, self-regulation and meaningfulness at work.

Stefanie Krauth, M.Sc. is a research associate, trainer and PhD candidate at the LMU Center for Leadership and People Management. She studied psychology at the University of Vienna with a focus on work, economic and social psychology.
