The Goal

Academic excellence at the university level highly reflects itself in a professional approach to working with students. Guided by this perspective, this course on the one hand provides insights based on scientific theories and proven practical models on how to design and conduct your lectures and seminars effectively, motivational, and fairly. On the other hand, it helps you develop your teaching identity, strengthen your role as a lecturer and deal with challenges in everyday teaching situations.

The Guiding Questions

How can I structure my teaching and align it with clearly defined learning objectives?
How can I design engaging learning experiences and motivate students to participate actively?
Which teaching methods can I use effectively in different learning situations?
How can I develop and strengthen my own teaching identity?
How can I handle challenging situations in teaching professionally and constructively?

The Implementation

In this seminar, these questions are explored through research-based insights, practical examples, exercises, and peer exchange. Participants reflect on their own teaching practice, experiment with a variety of instructional methods, and develop concrete approaches for designing their courses. Through input, exercises and discussions, they identify strategies for creating learning experiences, while strengthening their teaching identity and developing confidence in handling challenging situations.

The Instructors

Jonas Blechta, M.Sc. is a research associate, trainer, and doctoral candidate at the Center for Leadership and People Management, and a lecturer at University of Regensburg. He studied psychology at the University of Regensburg, specializing in business, organizational, and social psychology as well as experimental psychology, and is currently training to become a sports psychologist.

Julia Weinstabl, M.Sc. is a research associate, trainer, and doctoral candidate at the LMU Center for Leadership and People Management. She studied psychology at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and Chemnitz University of Technology. After completing her studies, she worked in science communication as a lecturer and as head of editorial operations at a media production company.
